OH see, weather prediction says rain again! Ugh, that means another weekend we cannot go out 🙁 So, instead I thought I will share my everyday makeup essentials. I did a similar post last year and since I have switched up a lot of those products, I thought it was time to get you guys in on some of the products that I have been loving this summer!
If you guys have been following me for some time, you know I love makeup! I love experimenting with new makeup, finding new foundations or powders- my favorite sport! 😀 So, let’s play makeup today 🙂
Base
After cleaning my face and beauty blender, which I use for of my makeup application, I like to use the Smashbox primer water. It is very refreshing and hydrating, so I am still using it, keep buying this stuff! Next, I use the Laura Mercier radiance primer. I love how glowy it makes my face look, while also giving a nice canvas for the next step that is foundation.
So, I had heard a lot of great things about the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder foundation (I use shade 8-medium). It is low coverage but with time, I have accepted to love foundations with less coverage. Instead I use concealers for covering up those blemishes- love my Nars soft matte concealer in shade Biscuit. I just hope they never discontinue this! Next for highlighting, I use the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer. I like to use this instead of Nars creamy concealer because it is a lot more lightweight and does not cake so much.
To set my makeup, I have been trying out the Cover FX Perfect Setting loose powder. I was using Laura Mercier before this and I did like it, but it was very drying under my eyes and I wanted to try something that would set the concealer without making it look cakey or dry. So far, I like it! And to set the rest of my face, I got this new powder from Nars- Light Reflecting Presses setting powder. And I actually really like it! I take a big fluffy brush, swirl it around in the pan and just set my whole face with still giving it some kind of glow somehow! Mission Accomplished! 🙂
Eyes
Next, I move on to my brows. I did a glossier product review a few months back and something from that review that I loved and am still using is this Glossier Boy Brow. I mean, almost everyone raves about it and it is really a great product. I am actually almost out of this tube and need to place another order along with their highlighter sticks, but that is for another post! #spoiler 🙂
I also use the ABH brow powder duo in the shade chocolate to lightly fill in the parts that the boy brow misses.
Moving on to my eyeshadow, I bought this Natasha Denona mini sunset eyeshadow palette a few months back, which is sadly out of stock right now on sephora website. This is the only thing I own from the brand and I must say, I am a fan! Perfect pigmentation, easily blendable and this particular has great warm shades, which are like my all-time favorites!
For my mascara, I have tried a lot, I mean A LOT! But I always come back to the Too Faced Better than Sex. I just love how long and voluminous it makes my lashes look. And I have also been using this mascara primer from Givenchy- Base Mascara Perfecto, which is a little pricey, for sure. But, I love the length it gives to my lashes! I hate to say it, but I LOVE this stuff!
Cheek
For my bronzer, I am still using the Laura Mercier bronze in shade-03. Starting to make dent in it, but I love it! I have tried a lot of different bronzers, but I feel like this is the one that really compliments my skin without making it look orange or muddy. So yes, a favorite in my books!
I have been switching up my blushes lately, but the two that I am picking up almost every time are these two- Nars blush in Goulue and Hourglass blush in luminous flush. Both of these are very subtle different shades of pink that I love wearing for every day. Also, does not make me look like a clown, so that helps! 😀
Now, there is a very new product that has quickly made it to my must haves and that is this Dior Backstage Glow Face palette. I mean, where do I even start! I think I should actually do a post on this product alone, but I would say this- you can actually use each of these shades. I mean, I love using the pink shade as my blush topper, gives a subtle glow to the cheeks!
Also, sometimes, I add that bronze shade to my eyelids to give them a pop if I am in a hurry. And the other 2 shades work perfect as highlighters. I mean, if you want to get anything from the Dior Backstage collection- get this!
Lips
I have been really enjoying buying nude shades lately and one day in the YSL aisle, I discovered this- their liquid matte lip stain in shade 23. SUCH A PERFECT NUDE! Seriously, medium tone women- get this! Since I have pigmented lips, I also love this Buxom lipliner- undercover and these two together are like a dream, so pretty!!
Then I give my face a quick spray of Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray and I am done! Ta-daaaa. This might look like a long process, but trust me, it really does only take me 20 mins to get ready! I am actually very proud of myself for cutting my previous 45-min makeup routine in 20 mins- an accomplishment, for sure!! 😀
Let me know if you have tried any of these products and if you like them or not! I would love to know, as, you know, I love makeup!! 🙂
