First Birthday and Smash Cake

This post is definitely long overdue. My baby turned one in May! A whole year, total of 12 months- 365 days. It has definitely sunk in that I have a toddler now that we are always on the move chasing him! I knew that I was going to celebrate it in a big way (like covid big- 10 people LOL) since we couldn’t do any celebrations before or when he was born. No baby shower or a welcome home for Neal. 🙁 So I knew I wanted to celebrate this one year of being a family of 3, one year of raising my sweet little boy and one year of navigating this parenthood life.

We had a really fun small celebration with close friends and family and I am so excited to share the memories from the day with you guys. I will share all the product links for you guys at the bottom of this post.

For his cake smash, I did all the prep myself. and made the cake myself- pretty proud of how it turned out 🙂

First Year Photoshoot

We also decided to do a one year birthday photoshoot. It was amazing to see his personality come through. We went with Laura Olivia, who also did my maternity shoot and I am absolutely in love with these photos.

Birthday Celebration

I spent months planning and prepping and it went SO well! I ordered his birthday dress from etsy and a lot of decor is also etsy (linking everything below). For food, I was initially thinking to go either italian or Mediterranean route but then I was in Fresh Market one day and the food there just seemed like the best option. And let me tell you- it was the best option. Everything was so great, very fresh and held up really well for the whole day. For party favors, we did some savory snacks, bite size cookies and some M&Ms because who doesn’t love those! 🙂
