Trip to DC-Georgetown

As I have been mentioning on my Instagram that we were planning a trip to Washington DC. Well, we got back yesterday from Washington DC and it was an amazing and refreshing trip. I have always wanted to visit the museums, especially the air and space museum and the natural history museum. So, let’s start from the beginning.

DAY-1

We started from Philadelphia in the afternoon on Friday at around 11:00 am. It was a bad day in terms of weather and raining heavily. But, we still drove; it took an hour extra for our trip but we made it! After checking in to our hotel, we freshened up, changed and went to visit the museums and memorials. It was raining a little, but I thought that that was the most adventurous we were going to get, so we went ahead 😀

We walked everywhere- from museum to museum, to wall memorial, to Lincoln memorial, everywhere! And if it was not for these boots from Boohoo, I wouldn’t have survived an hour! These are so good and comfortable to walk in since it has no heels. I got them in size US 6. I also love the chain-type detailing here. Since it was cold, I wore my V-neck sweater from Loft (not available online) , Hollister jeans and layered it with a denim jacket from H&M.

DAY-2

For the second day, we had already planned to go to Georgetown because I have been pestering my husband to take me there since I saw the pictures of beautiful and colorful houses there. Although Mr. Husband wasn’t that keen on going there, he admitted in the end that it was a great town. YAYY!

We got there at about 11:30 and walked until our feet started hurting. Georgetown waterfront is gorgeous! And the sun was out so it wasn’t that cold. We took a lot of pictures, I did some shopping (couldn’t resist, #SORRYNOTSORRY 😀 ).

Then we went to a waterfront restaurant, Farmer’s Fishers Market for food or Bruncher (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner) as my husband put it. HAHA! It was sooo good!! We ordered salmon sushi, spicy shrimp, chicken tenders with mimosa and beer for my husband. It was a little windy as you can tell from the pictures here! I wore this dress from Loft (not available online 🙁 ) and layered it with this white cardigan which is from Loft as well (similar style linked below). As you might have noticed by now, I’m pretty obsessed with Loft! 😀 Paired it with black tights and the same booties and this green pom hat from Primark.

We got back from Georgetown to our hotel at about 5:00 PM. Changed again when we headed out to DC to see White House and Capitol Hill building because it was getting cold. This time I opted for my fleece lined half jacket from Banana Republic that I bought last year and a cozy knit sweater from Missguided (another old buy!) with the white denim jeans that I bought from Zara that same afternoon in Georgetown. I’m telling you, I have no patience when it comes to new clothes! 😀

The next day, we checked out at 11:00 am and were headed back home! It was such an amazing trip and I needed it. Actually, we needed it! We hadn’t taken a trip to relax and just have fun in almost a year and this felt good! I still have one more week of my vacation left, so I’m just going to relax and wind down.

I know this was a veryyy long post, but you got to see me looking all dorky. HAHA!

How was your weekend? Have you been to Washington DC? What was your favorite place there? Let me know! 🙂
