Kitchen Appliances I Use Everyday

Since I quit my job in the end of September 2021, I have been spending a lot more time in the kitchen than I used to before. And as any grown up adult does, I have a few favorite appliances that I like to keep out or easily accessible so I can take then out whenever I need them without calling my husband to help me bring it down from the cabinets!

Anyway, jokes aside, I really do think these are some of the necessities that I will always keep in my kitchen since I use them for almost every meal and they make my life SO MUCH EASIER.

So, without further ado, let’s dive into my top kitchen appliances that I use every day.

  1. Chopper– probably the most used item in day-to-day life. I actually had a different chopper, this one from target a few years back and while I did like it for onion and tomatoes, if you did push the button a bit longer, the onion would start leaving water or a bit mushy. Not what I wanted. I do use this for tomatoes if I need puree kind of consistency. But the one that I am talking about is so much better than the electrical one. It has different shapes and sizes that you can use for cutting onions. I also cut my veggies like bell pepper, sweet potatoes, carrots in it or slice potatoes, cucumbers or onion if I need to. This also has an egg slicer attachment which comes in handy from time to time. If you do want to buy anything from this list, make it this one. it will honestly make your life so much easier. I can guarantee on that!
  2. Air Fryer– Another thing that we use daily. This has made making chicken drumsticks or wings for Neal so easy. He doesn’t particularly love fish or any other meat but chicken has to be one of his favorite foods. And I like it because this means he is getting his proteins every day. So, for lunch, I marinate his chicken while I prep and heat up our lunch and then quickly air fry or roast his chicken. Let me know if you guys want to know the marinades I use for him. They taste really good, just like our does. But it just has less heat and spices. I’ll be happy to share some different marinades 🙂 Anyway, this is one of the ways I use it every day. Other than that, I do use it to toast bread sometimes or make healthy French fries or masala corn or heat up naan and then top it with butter- it is heavenly!
  3. Kitchenaid– This is more of a new purchase. But an essential, nonetheless. If you love baking, you will ABSOLUTELY love and appreciate this thing. I got it as Mother’s Day gift around Neal’s birthday and I use this to make his smash cake. I actually swiss buttercream frosting for that cake and I don’t think I would have even attempted that if I haven’t had this thing. But the thing I use this daily for is to knead the dough for chapati. You see, I make a lot of Indian food and our curries are usually accompanied with rice or rotis (chapati). I don’t like kneading the dough every day and that is where it comes in. I add the flour, warm water and let it work for about 7-10 mins and I get the perfect dough every time! I cannot even begin to tell you how thankful I am for this thing in everyday life.
  4. Juicer– I actually bought this juicer in the beginning of 2021. Now the reason I bought this was that Neal was a bit constipated and her nutritionist told us that we should try pear juice or prune juice. I didn’t want to get the ones from store so I got this to make that myself. (Side Note- it didn’t work for prunes and he didn’t really like pear juice LOL). But since then, I have loved making fruit or vegetable or green juice every now and then. I’ll admit, not something I use every day. But I keep it outside on the counter and whenever I see it, I go looking around in my fridge on what veggies or fruits I do have and need to be finished and make juice for all of us as a snack. Filling and Healthy!
  5. Nespresso– A necessity. Need I say more. I use this every single day in the morning and have been doing that for the last 3 years. Drinking a nice hot cup of coffee by myself, looking out the window, watching sunrise is my favorite way to start the day. I still have my Keurig but honestly, this thing makes so much better coffee. Anyone who has visited us, I have gotten them hooked to this. It makes really good espresso and it comes with a milk frother so you don’t really need any extra purchase, other than your coffee pods.
  6. Rice Cooker– the most recent purchase but like I said above, with our curries and dals, we eat either roti or rice. I had my rotis covered, so I had to do something for rice too, right?! The one I have also has a delay timer. So, you can put rice and water in it and put the timer on after how many hours it should start cooking your rice. Genius! Now it does a bit longer than my stovetop or microwave rice. So, I just out the rice in first and then get on with the other things like heating up our other dishes or making Neal’s chicken, making a quick side dish and stuff. I love that I don’t have to think about stirring the pot or adding more water to the rice. It is one and done and who doesn’t love that!

I would love to know your favorite everyday items!
