Date Night Outfit (Trying on Trend- Velvet)

Velvet Top: Abercrombie || Jeans: Hollister || Leather Jacket: Old but these are very similar to the one I am wearing! || Heels: Steve Madden || Earring: Baublebar || Sunglasses: Zara (similar here!)

Happy Tuesday you guys! This past weekend we had a snowstorm in Philadelphia and surrounding area- the Nor’easter. It was very unexpected though. I had no idea we were going to have a snowstorm! I was working from home, as usual on a Friday, and when I glanced outside, it was HEAVY SNOW! And it was so bad that almost 60% of Pennsylvania had power outage. Thankfully we were okay, but another snowstorm is supposed to come on Wednesday this week and this time I am going to be so ready with snacks and drinks. LOL! Even though I am craving for that warm summer, I think I will just settle for no snow right now!

Anyway, I have been in search of new pair of jeans and I would love some recommendations! Also, I have been opening up to the idea of ripped jeans, which I was totally opposed to up until a few months back. But, I still don’t want my jeans to be totally ripped everywhere, so I might try a few with a rip at the knee. I think it looks very on-trend! Another thing on trend- girlfriend denim. I know I am VERY LATE to the party, but I never thought it would look good on me being that I am under 5’4”. But we shall see. I will try a few and report back!

Talking about trends, something that has been come back to trend is velvet. I have been seeing so much of velvet everywhere! Even though that is not a material that I like wearing much because I feel like it’s a lot thicker than I would like and, in my head, it seems like something for a special occasion; but I still wanted to try this trend out. So, I started my hunt for a simple velvet piece that I could wear without getting too conscious. And when I tried on this cami top, I knew this was it! It is simple, clean, not much jazz- just what I was looking for.

This top is also good for spring weather with a light jacket on since velvet is in itself a little warm material. Pair it with a blue or white denim and you’re good to go for an evening out.

I wore an old leather jacket with this and paired it with my nude Steve Madden heels and trust me when I say this, I was freezing! I felt like I was going to get a frostbite or something. LOL! But the things you do for the blog 😀
