Can you believe that only 2 months are left in 2020?! It feels like we just celebrated new years! This year has honestly flown by SO Quickly! But, I am excited for November because it’s my birthday month and then I am very much looking forward to 2020 because every year brings something new with it 🙂
I will be turning 31 this November and as I am getting into my 30s, I am also getting more and more comfortable in my kin. There was a time when I was very conscious of every little bump and acne on my face and felt like everyone was looking at that if I went out. But, I have gotten to a point where I don’t feel the need to have a full face of makeup for a normal day. But still there are some products that I prefer using just to enhance my natural features and today on the blog, I am going to be talking about my 5 must-have makeup products! Stay Tuned 🙂
1. Primer- for me, primer is another step to moisturize and hydrate my skin. I bought the Summer Friday Jetlag Mask about 6 months back, I use it almost every day and still have a bit less than half of it left. You only need a small amount and it honestly works great for my skin and keeps it hydrated without making it look greasy- a win in my books!
2. Concealer- I like using concealer on the days I am not wearing any makeup. I do not have very visible dark circle but I use a bit over the small blemishes I have on my cheeks or chin to make it all look even. These are the 3 I have in rotation right now, but current favorite has to be the Marc Jacobs concealer. It is incredibly easy to use, blends right in with your finger and I have the perfect shade for my skin tone. I also keep it in my bag when I am travelling because it is so easy to use. I don’t even need to set it separately if I use it for touch up. If you haven’t tried this yet, this is one product out of everything I am mentioning that you should absolutely try.
3. Eyebrow powder/pencil- I don’t have really bad eyebrows I think, but I don’t mind a little work on it, if I’m out and about, especially in the beginning of the arch. The ones I have been using for at least 2 years now is Anastasia Brow powder and Brow definer. Mostly use the brow definer since it is quick and easy to use. But I love the brow powder when I have some extra time on my hands and I want to use the two shades strategically for the brows. I’m telling you- it’s an art! 🙂
4. Mascara- Being Asian, my lashes are not very long and very straight. So, mascara is something that I have used a lot of from different brands and there are 3 currently that I am rotating in my routine. Pat McGrath Fetish mascara is my latest find and I absolutely love it. The formula is a bit thicker than the other 2 mascaras here, but it gives a really nice length to the lashes and separates them giving it a fuller effect. I like that.
5. Setting spray- Urban Decay has the best setting spray if you have oily/combination skin. That’s all I have to say for it. I have used a few others but I always come back to this. I like it so much that I actually got the bigger bottle when they had it on sale, cannot remember when. But this has lasted me for so long!
