With being 40 weeks pregnant and quarantined at home, I don’t really have the option of going to any spa or massages, which, honestly, I would love to go to with almost all of my body in pain by the end of the day every day. So, I have been taking baths and spa days almost every other day lately which helps me relax and calm and also eases my back and leg pains.
And since every one of us in almost in the same situation with the stay-at-home orders, I am sharing my bath/ pamper routine, the products I use and the steps I take to have a nice relaxing experience.
Set the Mood: Before I do anything, I like to set the mood. Personally, I prefer to diffuse some oils, light a candle and put on some soothing music to play.
Cleanse your Face: Next I double-cleanse my face to take the day off of my face. I am using this cleansing balm currently and really like how effective and yet gentle it is at taking my makeup off. But this one is definitely on my list once I am out of my current one. Next, I use a face cleanser. My all-time favorite for PM cleanser is this from Tatcha. I like the gentle exfoliating beads and the feeling on my face 🙂
Face Mask: Depending on how my skin is feeling that particular day, I go in for a face mask next. I am listing some of my go-to face masks below. But, I like to do a hydrating mask or a sheet mask when my skin is particularly dry, a clay mask when it is congested or I see a new acne coming out and an exfoliating mask at least once a week.
Prepare Bath: Next I fill out my tub with some warm water and put my bath pillow for neck support. I like the feeling of a little hot bath but being pregnant, I only go for warm baths since hot baths are not recommended when you’re pregnant. I also add some bath bombs and bubble bars to enhance the experience. Plus, I also add Epsom salt to help with the back pains. Next, I take my bath caddy and put some essentials that I know I’ll need in the bath, which include- body scrub, razor for shaving my legs, lip scrub, a face towel to wash off my face mask before I get out of the tub and a bottle of water.
Relax: Don’t think I need to say anything 🙂 I just sit in the bath for 15-20 mins, close my eyes and relax, listen to the music.
Moisturize: Once I am out of the tub, I put on a nice thick robe (in winters) or a satin/silk robe (in summers). I use this lotion and body oil to moisturize my whole body and this belly oil on my pregnant belly for any stretch marks. Then I move on to my PM skincare, since I mostly take these baths in the evening.
How do you like to pamper yourself at home and have a spa day? Would love your tips and comments!
